The possible new Holy Grail of moisturisers?

So I ordered some clothes recently from www.missguided.co.uk and was surprised when two little free samples of Garnier's new 'Moisture Match' moisturiser dropped out from my parcel. Us girls all know the importance of moisturising daily, especially our faces! I tend to have rather sensitive, dry skin on my face and luckily these samples were designed for 'dry to very dry skin' so I decided to give it a try. All I can say is this moisturiser is seriously A-M-AAAZING! Its lightweight, smells gorgeous and feels great on the skin - so much so that I decided to go out and buy the full sized bottle. I literally noticed a huge change in the appearance of my skin within a couple of days and it just feels really nice to put on. It's not thick or gloopy in any way and the perfume smell isn't overpowering like other moisturisers on the market. My skin feels smoother and more supple and isn't rough and dry like it was before. Garnier have introduced 5 different types of the moisturiser to suit each skin type including Goodbye Dry for very dry to dry skin, Shine Be Gone for oily skins, Protect and Glow for normal skin, Wake Me Up for dull skin, and Start Afresh for normal to dry skin. Each comes with added SPF and promises to provide up to 24-hour hydration. What more could you ask for?! Amazing product and is definitely worth a try, I highly recommend!

Is summer finally coming?

Today we woke up with a little chink of sunlight peeping through the blinds... On opening them, sunshine filled Amber's brightly coloured room and it motivated us to get up, make some French toast (after some deliberating on the right method!) and go out a lovely springtime walk around the Loch nearby. Although it felt like we were walking through a fridge with a bitter wind guiding us, it really was lovely. It gave us a glimmer of hope that summer might really be round the corner - despite the cold, OBV.

Ps. We also had a "Swanterage"

L'OREAL Casting Crème Gloss Review

So, after years of going to salons to get my hair professionally coloured (and paying a fortune in the process) I decided I would try out a home dye that cost £6.49 from Boots as opposed to £70 from your local salon.
I was looking for a darker shade of brown than I already was and wanted a glossy finish therefore chose 323, Dark Chocolate.

It took about 15 minutes to put on my hair, 15-20 minutes to develop and 10 minutes to wash out - again, beats sitting in a salon chair getting a numb bum for 3 hours!

After I dried my hair I noticed the difference straightaway; the colour was shiny, glossy and dark just as I wanted it and the condition of my hair after using the small bottle of conditioner provided (yes - FREE conditioner other than your average £40 condition from hairdressers... I like free things) was amazing. My hair feels and looks so healthy and rich and smells like I have just stepped out a salon! I have popped a wee before and after pic at the bottom after my stereotypical selfie. Would I recommend? Totally! 5/5 ... Because I'm worth it... (I HAD to get that in).

Amber's first eye test...

Although it's hard to believe that by the age of 19 I have never had my eyes tested, it's the truth (unless you count desperately trying to read a roundabout sign in what seems like a monsoon - this happened yesterday). I went for my first ever eye test today (eek!).
This is what I expected...
Cover my eyes and read the letters. If I can read them, I don't need glasses and if I can't, I need a snazzy new pair of specs.
This was reality...
The optician took me into the smallest room ever and spent the first five minutes chatting v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y about my journey there and asked me what the weather was like outside (even though the windows in his little shop are MASSIVE and he could clearly see the weather... Ironic considering he's an optician that can't see out his own windows), but nonetheless he was a lovely man and only being friendly. Anyway, the test involved various activities including me wearing a ridiculously oversized pair of spectacles to read letters from a TV (yes - no more big ABC board, time has moved on and opticians use technology!) which I could see fine anyway without the monstrosities. It also included a test with a buzzer and a light, something that looked like a medieval device, extremely bright lights and most of my make up smeared over various machines from pressing my face against them to peer my eyes through the holes.

So, the bottom line is that I don't need glasses (hurrah!) even though they would be quite a nice fashion accessory.

Hello!

Hello and welcome to our first ever blog! Our names are Amber & Lucy and we love all things fashion, beauty & lifestyle related. So we decided this rare Friday night in whilst eating copious amounts of junk food, to start our own small space on the internet to share our random thoughts and experiences! We are both 19 years old and come from Glasgow in Scotland. We genuinely believe we share the same brain and were twins in a previous life - we both are as ditzy as each other but both have the same big hopes and dreams for the future that we hope to share with you. We are extremely positive and smiley and would love you to see the world through our eyes and hopefully inspire you along the way.
